All CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) monitors we collect are properly consigned to a fully-licensed Waste Management site that conforms to the ISO 14001 environmental standard. Owing to the transportation costs we incur in doing this, as of September 2009, if you are recycling 5 or more CRT monitors there will be a charge of £2 + VAT per screen
There is no charge for TFT monitors
When our driver and your representative complete the Duty of Care notice, a note will be taken of the number of CRT monitors we have loaded. An invoice will then be sent to your company or institution, payable within 30 days by cheque, PayPal or direct bank transfer. Cash payment on the day of collection is also acceptable. A temporary receipt will be furnished at the time and a VAT invoice will follow by post
To discuss and arrange fees before collection, call (01223) 473875 or email sales@cambridge-computer-recycling.co.uk
What if my CRT monitors are beyond repair or reuse?
CRT monitors are classified as hazardous waste if they have smashed cases, smashed screens or screen burn. To legally dispose of more than 500kg of hazardous waste in any 12 month period, you have to be registered with the Environment Agency as a producer of hazardous waste. Online registration costs £18, telephone registration £23, and paper registration £28. Waste carriers such as ourselves are not permitted to collect hazardous waste from unregistered premises
If your monitors are beyond repair or reuse we cannot take them to our usual site. We will accept them as hazardous waste and we will need to consign these from you. For this, there will be a charge of £20 +VAT, plus £15 per monitor disposal cost. If you are unsure, please contact us
